What Do the CRM’s “A” and “B” Classifications Truly Mean?
Throughout multiple Walking Dead spin-offs, the CRM has used the terms “A” and “B” to classify people, but the exact meaning behind these labels remains unclear. In The Walking Dead, Jadis (Anne) refers to Rick as an “A” before later changing his status to a “B.” Similarly, World Beyond hints at CRM scientists using these terms to categorize test subjects. So, what does it mean to be an “A” or a “B”?
One theory is that “A” refers to strong-willed individuals who resist control—potential leaders or threats—while “B” refers to more submissive or cooperative people. Some believe “A” subjects are used for scientific experiments, possibly as test cases for a cure, while “B” individuals are recruited into the CRM as soldiers or workers. The fact that Jadis switched Rick from an “A” to a “B” may have saved his life, but the full truth behind these classifications remains a chilling mystery.
